Filament Theatre Classes
Filament classes focus on amplifying the creativity of the young participants. In Filament camps and classes, there are no scripts and no assigned roles–each participant creates their own dream role. Through drama and creative play, Filament’s experienced teaching artists support everyone in creating their own dialogue, characters, stories, costumes, and ultimately their own play. Participants will explore creative problem solving, teamwork, confident public speaking, analysis of text, speaking directly to the audience, community engagement, and more — all while creating something fun that makes them proud!

The kindly Uncorker of Ocean Bottles needs your help! Mysterious messages have washed-up on shore, and our team of story collectors must find their owners! Dive in as you explore the ocean and all it’s mysteries. Explore and expand upon the themes and characters in Filament’s world-premiere production, then create your own messages, characters, scenes, and stories for a special performance on the Filament stage. Class members have the unique opportunity to work with Filament’s professional actors and teaching artists before performing on the amazing sandbox set specially built for The Uncorker of Ocean Bottles. Tuition includes a free ticket to The Uncorker of Ocean Bottles.
