The Filament Barn Dance Featuring the Golden Horse Ranch Band
Friday, April 17 @ 7:30pm
The Golden Horse Ranch Band plays a raucous set of square dances, polkas, waltzes, contra, and swing dances in the tradition of old time barn dances. 3rd generation caller Annie Coleman will teach you in no time how to swing like thunder and dip the oyster. The Ranch Band returns to the 6 Corners after presenting their 9th annual Barn Dance Apocalypse at Filament Theatre in 2013. Come dance the night away!
Sustain 36: A Community Supported Theater Project
Sunday, April 19 @ 8pm
Here’s how the project works: In the week leading up to the event, Filament will crowd source titles for plays that don’t exist yet. At 8am on Saturday, we select a title and begin collaboratively writing a piece of theatre. Throughout the day, as we need props, costumes, hands to help build things, meals, etc., we reach out to our neighbors through social media for support. Then, at 8pm on Sunday we perform the brand new show. Anyone who has loaned us an item or participated in the creation of the project can attend the show for free! Follow on Facebook and Twitter using #sustain36.
