Heather Lalley

Heather Lalley (she/her) is a Portage Park resident and mother of two kids. A lifelong journalist, she is currently an editor at a magazine that covers the restaurant industry. Previously, she spent a decade as a daily newspaper reporter in Spokane, Wash. Heather also wrote a farm-to-table cookbook about Chicago chefs who work with area farmers. She has a journalism degree from Northwestern University, as well as a degree in baking & pastry from Washburne Culinary Institute. Heather discovered Filament when she and her children moved to the neighborhood in 2015 and they have been super fans ever since. She is honored to help further the mission of this neighborhood gem by serving on its board.
