The Production Team:

IMG_4937 (1)TYLER BEATTIE (Adaptor/Composer) is a composer, writer, director, and teacher. He is the co-creator (with Emma Lively) of four original musicals: Blue, Candy Land, Bunny’s Bakery and Bliss, and the animated film Hungry Hungry Hippos (currently in development with Hasbro). He is the creator of several original musical pieces, including Pinocchio, Sleepy Hollow and The Sandman.  A passionate educator, Tyler has taught middle and high school throughout the country, and continues to work as a teacher and arts education advocate in New York Public Schools.  He is a graduate of Northwestern University.

sferguson (1)SCOTT FERGUSON (Director) is so excited to be back at Filament having directed another Tyler Beattie musical, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow 6 years ago. Scott is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Theatrebam Chicago where he wrote and created the hit shows, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Schoolhouse Rock Live Too! and The Main Street Kids’ Club: A MathStart Musical. He is a proud Artistic Associate of About Face Theatre, where he directed the hit show, We Three Lizas.  As a Founding Collective Member of Bailiwick Chicago, he directed the critically acclaimed Aida and the smash hit production of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Scott has also directed for Hell in a Handbag, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook & Watertower. Regionally, he has directed at Playhouse on the Square in Memphis,  The Fulton Opera House in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, The Wohlfahrt Haus Theatre in Wytheville, Virginia, The Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre, Rhodes College and New Trier High School.
